Calving Ease: Many of these bulls are what we consider potential heifer bulls. We have backed this up with many years and records that are presented in the Calving Ease Indexes.

Performance: These bulls average EPD's rank them in the top % of the breed for all the breed EPD's and Indexes. We feed out our steers in commercial feed yard, to gather actual data and profits.
Eye Appeal: We have received Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion pen of 3 bulls at the Denver Stock Show 6 out of the last 8 years.
Cross breeding: Research has been proven to show:
$51 more per cow profit per year.
baldie F1 heifers had a 7% advantage in conception rates.
$110 more per head when they sold the bred baldie heifers.
Like in the past several years, we are offering all of the 5 year old cows that have heifer calves at side. I would say, that over 50% of the cows we have sold in the past two sales have gone on to be donor cows for the new owners. I believe this set of cows has the same potential. I had hoped to have a larger number this year, but 2/3 of them sexed to have bull calves.
The heifers selling in our 2013 sale are all open commercial females. These heifers are from the commercial herd here at SHF. They have been vaccinated and are ready to breed. We are also selling 15 black baldie heifers from a customers herd. They are out of Sandhill Farms Hereford bulls and Gardner Angus Angus bulls.
